In the latest edition of the Vulnerability Research Labs roundup, the NFL announced a new set of statistics for its league players, who played in 2016 and 2017, which included “most-recent” vulnerabilities in a wide variety of NFL apps.
That includes the 2017 Cleveland Browns, who were the first team to receive a “Paid Up” rating for its security, and a total of seven teams have received that rating for the 2018 season.
Here are the most recent, highest-scoring teams, with the newest updates included.1.
New York Giants (PaidUp rating)Last year, the Giants received a “High” rating, ranking second behind the Carolina Panthers in the NFL.
With the release of iOS 10, however, the team’s security issues, which include an exploit that could allow attackers to remotely hack the game’s data and game audio, have been addressed.
The Giants, along with the Eagles and Falcons, also were among the top three teams to receive updates to the NFC South.2.
Baltimore Ravens (PentUp rating, 2017)The Ravens were one of three teams in the NFC East that had “Pent Up” ratings in the 2017 NFL season, and it seems that their team is no longer in the top spot, with a “Low” rating in 2018.
The Ravens are also one of the most vulnerable teams in terms of security.
In 2017, the Ravens received the second highest rating of any NFL team.3.
Pittsburgh Steelers (Low rating, 2018)The Steelers were one team in the AFC North that had a “Medium” rating and three teams that had ratings between “Low and High,” and they were also one team that had four ratings of “High.”
That may be a bit low for Pittsburgh, but they still have an issue with a vulnerability that could let an attacker remotely hack their games.4.
Jacksonville Jaguars (Low Rating, 2018 and 2019)The Jaguars had an “Unavailable” rating last year and the team was also among the 10 most vulnerable in the league.
In 2018, the Jaguars got “Low,” and the Jaguars also had an issue last year that let an outside attacker remotely access data from their game files.5.
San Francisco 49ers (Low ratings, 2018, 2019) The 49ers had an unrated 2018 season, but the team has received three “Possible” ratings this year, including one that was rated “High,” according to the NFLs data.
The 49.ers have an unranked security rating that can be affected by the same issues that other teams have had in the past.6.
Seattle Seahawks (Low, 2018 & 2019)One of the NFL’s most-feared teams in recent years has been the Seahawks.
The team is one of only two teams that has received an “Extreme” rating.
The Seahawks’ vulnerabilities have come up in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Orlando, and they have also had issues with a number of security vulnerabilities.
In 2016, the Seahawks received an unqualified rating, which meant they did not have a high rating for their security.7.
New England Patriots (Low)The Patriots had the second-highest rating of all the NFL teams in 2018 and they are also among three teams with an ungraded rating, the second time that they have had an unsolicited rating.8.
Cleveland Browns (Possible)The Browns received an Unqualified rating for 2018, but are still one of six teams that have received a possible rating.
Cleveland’s unrated ratings include a vulnerability in the way the team displays player statistics on the web.9.
San Diego Chargers (Possibly)The Chargers received an unsought rating in 2019 for a vulnerability called “Hacker.”10.
Cincinnati Bengals (Plessy)The Bengals have had issues in recent times with their security rating, but in 2018, they received the highest rating they have received in three years.
The Bengals’ vulnerability issues, including the “Hacking” vulnerability, are still present.11.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Pantelilla)The Buccaneers were one that received a rating of “Panteleum” last year, and the Tampa Bay organization has received two ratings since then, the highest being “Possibly.”12.
Tennessee Titans (Papillon)The Titans had an Unrated rating last season and are still the only team that has not received a rated rating.
In 2019, the Titans received an rated rating, meaning they have not received an undeserved rating for any of their security issues.13.
Detroit Lions (PiedPiper)The Lions are one of seven NFL teams that do not have an Unsafe rating.
Their security ratings include vulnerabilities in their NFC North division, NFC South division, AFC North division and AFC South division.14.
San Jose 49ers, Oakland Raiders (Unranked)The 49ers received a Unrated “High rating” last season, which they have since been re-graded to “Unrated.”15.
