MSNBC The Clinton campaign is urging Democrats to “get over” Donald Trump’s racism rhetoric.
“We cannot and will not let our voices be silenced by hateful rhetoric from a man who has called women pigs, dogs, slobs and dogs,” campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement Wednesday.
“I hope the Democratic Party is wise enough to stand up to Trump’s racist rhetoric and the hate that it sends, and we will be there for them.”
Trump has been critical of the Clintons in the past.
“Crooked Hillary Clinton should never have been elected president,” he tweeted last month.
“The Clintons are a bunch of racist liars, Crooked Hillary.
She can’t even get elected, yet!”
The Clintons are an “out of control” and “out-of-control” political machine, he added.
“She is the one who should have been in jail when she committed perjury, but she got away with it.
The Clintons have spent trillions of dollars to buy elections, and now they are the ones in charge of the United States government.”
Trump was elected to the White House in a surprise upset, defeating Clinton in the popular vote by more than 3 million votes.
The campaign for the Democratic nominee, former Secretary of State Joe Biden, has been dogged by criticism over her use of a private email server during her time in office.
